The Farmer Wants A Wife host, 47, took to Instagram on Tuesday to confirm that she has had a total hip replacement at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Sydney . She shared a gallery of photographs of herself in hospital and on crutches as she detailed her recovery and gave fans an insight into the major procedure.

In a lengthy caption, Samantha explained that she has been suffering with osteoarthritis after tearing the cartilage in her right hip. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease which sees tissues in the joint break down over time and is more common in older people. The former Sunrise star explained that she has undergone a hip replacement to treat the condition and reassured fans that she is doing well amid her recovery.
