RTE star Maura Derrane jetted off with her rarely-seen son on an eight minute flight home. The Galway beauty is enjoying her summer holidays from work as Today wrapped up for its annual summer break last Friday. The popular host is married to John Deasy and they have one child together, ten-year-old Cal.
Maura decided to head back to her family home in Inis Mor in the Aran Islands to spend a couple of days with her mum Bridgie. And the 53-year-old travelled in style as she hopped on the plane that goes from Connemara Airport, in Inverin, to the small island. The flight only takes eight minutes to get tot the destination.
Maura documented her time on the plane as she looked out onto the stunning views of the Wild Atlantic Coast. She took a video of her son reading a comic book and joked: "Nearly landing and Cal is reading, this is what happens when you get on a plane and it's so normal to be on a plane like this." Maura shared the video on Instagram and captioned it: "Home for a few days to #inismor.
Here is our trip aboard @aerarann_islands. It’s only an eight minute flight from the mainland on the ten seater plane." The presenter's friends and fans raced to the comment section to wish her well as she enjoys her well-deserved break.
