The popular sporting event - considered to be the crown jewel in the racing calendar - began on Tuesday and was attended by King Charles, Camilla and other members of the Royal Family. Earlier in the day, glamorous guests had dressed themselves up to the nines to watch the horse-racing at the Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

But by the end of the day, ties had been loosened, jackets had been removed and the drunken antics were in full flow on the Ascot high street. Dejected men dressed in suits were seen lying passed out on the floor, while a man and a woman were seen picking up wads of cash off the floor that one appeared to have dropped. As the Ascot debauchery continued into sunset, three police officers were needed to wrestle one weary racegoer to the ground.
