Hardware retailer Robert Dyas will close down and leave Castlepoint later this summer. Plans have already been submitted to create two shops in the unit, and negotiations are underway with future operators, the centre manager has confirmed. It is all change for Castlepoint, with two shops closing, one opening and a third moving.
Last week, it was confirmed that Clintons card shop will close on August 11. The empty unit will then be filled by book shop Waterstones, which will be relocating from its existing space at the centre. Meanwhile, that empty unit will soon become home to international fashion brand Mango for its first Dorset shop.
Travel company TUI will also be opening a new store at Castlepoint later this month, and TK Maxx has signed an agreement to extend its lease there. Centre manager David Pickett said: “It’s been a busy few weeks at Castlepoint with news that Mango will soon be joining our line-up, Waterstones will be moving to a new unit - taking a new lease that keeps them here in Bournemouth longer, complete with the much enjoyed Caffè Nero in-store - and confirmation of Tui’s opening later this month. "I can also confirm that TK Maxx has extended its lease to remain trading here, with HomeSense part and parcel.
"We will be sad to see Clintons go as part of this period of change, but can report that a number of other retailers are currently considering Castlepoint for new stores and so we are hopeful that we will have more names to share with custome.
