Rob Brydon has provided an update on Gavin and Stacey 's highly awaited return whilst also warning against a potential "mistake" that he doesn't want to be included the script. It comes following the news last month that the BBC sitcom will return for a "finale" at Christmas . There hasn't been any new episodes of the BAFTA -winning show since its most recent festive special aired almost five years ago in 2019.

The cast have been reacting to the news of its return in the weeks since the upcoming episode was announced. Rob, 59, who plays Bryn West, was asked about it during an appearance on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this week. Radio host Zoe Ball , 53, asked him on Friday morning: "What are you hoping for for Uncle Bryn?" Sharing his thoughts, the cast member told the presenter whilst a guest on her BBC Radio 2 show: "Well, just more of the same, really.

" Rob added in the interview: "I mean, I always love it [when] I get the script and on the last one I go through the script and there's that great speech about the woman he met at the service station and she'd lost her wallet and needed to buy a phone and he's so gullible, so that's lovely to play cause the words are just beautiful and it's a gorgeous script. "And then you get to play that and I was playing it to the rest of the cast because we were all [filming] at the pub. They're all sat there.

So you're looking at the other components then. You can see Mathew Horne [who played Gavin Shipman]..

. y'know how he does those gr.
