The weather was beautiful, so Betty Jo and I, decided to head for Hot Springs. Jennifer and Travis Hartshorn (Jen's an Alliance native) said, they went to Jalapeño Grill on their anniversary. They said it was a fun place with fantastic food.

So a few weeks later we decided to make the trek and see for ourselves. It is located at 1648 US 18 in Hot Springs. The easiest way to find it is, when coming in to town from Maverick Junction, a couple miles in on the right you will see a Dairy Queen.

Turn left at that intersection and follow it until you see it on the right, a big ol' black cow with a red sombrero on, and a bunch of happy jalapeños dancing in the sunshine to welcome you. This is a very large wooden building, and sets right next door to the Mammoth site. If you see that big ol' Mammoth elephant (Digger).

You went 100 feet to far! We went in to find it wasn't actually a grill at all, but, a beautifully decorated Mexican restaurant. There are several levels to sit, including outdoor seating. We both love Mexican food.

But of course, with all the great Mexican places near or at home, and we decide to drive an hour and a half to one? Well I spoke to soon as usual. Our waitress was there with drinks, awesome chips and salsa, and a menu. Which was very large.

So many choices. Betty Jo likes her burritos, and I decided to try the enchilada rancheros. Our wait was not very long.

Pretty soon these big ol' platters were sitting in front of us and we couldn't believe how much f.
