Rita Moreno is a living legend. She played Anita from the first movie of “West Side Story” then Valentina in the 2021 Steven Spielberg version, Louise in the groundbreaking relationship drama “Carnal Knowledge,” Olive Madison in “The Odd Couple, Female Version” on Broadway and Lydia from the acclaimed reboot of TV’s “One Day a Time.” Now in her 90s, she continues to act, but her upcoming visit to Hartford is due to her charitable works.

Moreno is the guest of honor at the United Way Women United Power of the Purse Luncheon and Silent Auction Presented by KeyBank Key4Women on June 6 at the Connecticut Convention Center. The Courant talked to Moreno about her first movie, her upcoming film and her love for Connecticut. I don’t what the title is but I’m there to help.
