Rhian Sugden has said that her newborn son George has "taken all the years of pain away" after five years of trying for a baby with her husband Oliver Mellor. It was announced last month that model Rhian, 37, and actor Oliver, 43, had welcomed their first child together . The couple are said to have spent £150,000 on numerous rounds of IVF in the years prior to George's birth in April.

They are said to have begun trying to conceive shortly after they got married in 2018. Rhian, who is said to have been told that she had a low egg count, later shared that she had begun IVF and they ended up going through eight cycles . She told the Sun in a new interview: "[George has] taken all the years of pain away.

" Rhian said she can now "barely recall life" before the newborn's arrival and described him as "absolutely perfect". Whilst Oliver - who's known for having appear in Coronation Street - described George as a "miracle". Discussing their experience, Oliver said that they were "excited" when they first started IVF but that it became "mental torture".

He added that those going through the experience "lose hope" and suggested that it was "hard" to stay hopeful about the process.
