I was wondering what’s going on up here at Mehaffey Park. All those beautiful trees, fruit trees they planted when the park was opened, almost all of them are dead. Some of them they’ve cut off a foot above the ground.
Some are dying right now. Why can’t somebody get in there and replace all those and keep them up every year? Maybe there should be a fund started for that or something. But right now it looks terrible.

They just can’t bring themselves to do the tough part of their job. The people have spoken, and it’s time to accept reducing support for feel good projects. I believe the city manager just doesn’t want to be the bad guy to his fellow city employees.
