Jenna Kowaleski's July 3 column, " Native plants offer lesson in losing control ," was delightful. In addition to our various little garden areas, we have grass to mow, but our lawn is also a source of enjoyment due to pollinators benefiting from the natural "surprises" that come up. In spring when nothing else is blooming for the early pollinators, thank goodness for dandelions.

(The pollinators love them.) These are followed by forget-me-nots, clover, buttercups, daisies, and more. Nature gives us so much beauty and fulfillment.

Let's all slow down so we can appreciate God's gifts to us. Kathy Winkler Duluth ADVERTISEMENT Email submissions to: letters@duluthnews.com Include a full name, address and daytime phone number.
