R’Bonney Gabriel recently went out on the streets of Metro Manila and stopped by to have a balut egg. On TikTok, the Miss Universe 2022 queen recapped her experience with a one-minute clip. “I am pescatarian.
I don’t eat meat, but I’m making an exception because I feel like balut is just something that you have to try. I’ve had it once before, like 10 years ago, but I feel like it was the penoy,” she said. After enjoying the Filipino delicacy, R’Bonney gave it a rating.
“I love eggs, so that was kind of like an egg. I’m gonna rate that six and a half,” she said. “A one-time thing,” she wrote in the caption.
R'Bonney has been in the Philippines since April. The first Filipino-American Miss Universe has been exploring her Filipino heritage, from eating Pinoy street food , practicing her "tawad" game in Divisoria, riding a jeepney , visiting her dad Remigio’s childhood home in Malate , and trying her hand at cooking sinigang . Aside from being a beauty queen, R’Bonney is also a sustainable fashion designer .
