(r to l): Organser Brian O’Loughlin, his wife Gillie, daughter Emma, and sister Senator Fiona O’Loughlin enjying the sunshine in Kilmacthomas Woods on the Bank Holiday. THIS year’s re-scheduled Bluebells and Buskers Festival was a great success, according to organiser Brian O’Loughlin. “Very many thanks to everyone who supported this year’s Bluebells and Buskers which had been postponed to the June Bank Holiday weekend from May because of the wet weather at that point,” he said.

Heavy rain at the time in May meant the fields usually used for parking were unuseable, and for the first time in 13 years, the organisers put it back to the next Bank Holiday. Brian was full of praise for all of the entertainers, and the local Scouts group who organised the giant BBQ, as well as the local GAA club who helped with parking. “The main point of this mini festival is to give a free event amongst our beautiful woods in Rathangan,” said Brian.

“We are so lucky to have both Killinthomas Woods and the Blueway on our doorstop, and it’s great to have the opportunity to showcase our natural amenities with the fabulous talents of local singers and musicians. Looking forward to next year already!”.
