Public Health Dorset is encouraging people who are aged between 40 and 74 to get their NHS Health Check. It is a free check-up on overall health and can tell people whether they are at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as: heart disease diabetes kidney disease and strokes During the check-up doctors will discuss how to reduce the risk of these conditions. For people aged over 65, advice on what symptoms to look out for for dementia will also be offered.

A spokesperson for Public Health Dorset said: "The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of your overall health. "If you’re aged between 40 and 74 and get an invite from your GP, it is important that you accept it and book your appointment.".
