Rather than being released this autumn, the latest rumours suggest that the PS5 Pro upgrade console may not even be out this year. For months the existence of the PS5 Pro – a more powerful and expensive variant of the current PlayStation 5 – has been taken as a given, that’s widely expected to be announced this autumn, for release sometime before Christmas . Sony has only vaguely hinted at the upgrade console’s existence but there’s been so many leaks, including detailed technical specifications , that there’s seemed little doubt that it is real.

But now the source that was the first to leak information about the console has cast doubt on whether it really will be released this year. Insider Tom Henderson has a solid track record as a leaker, but particularly when it comes to Sony hardware, as he was the first to reveal information on the PlayStation Portal .
