Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been immortalised in new artworks by Dan Llywelyn Hall, the artist renowned for painting Queen Elizabeth II. Hall, celebrated for being the youngest artist to capture the late Queen Elizabeth II on canvas, has unveiled a collection of striking new pieces. Among them are portrayals of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as figures from royal history.
In these bold etchings, Meghan is depicted as Dame Elizabeth Grey, historically known as Queen of England through her marriage, while Harry takes on the guise of Charles Edward Stuart, famously dubbed Bonnie Prince Charlie. The piece featuring Meghan is titled 'Returning White Queen' and casts her as Elizabeth Woodville, who became Dame Elizabeth Grey, Queen of England through her union with King Edward IV in 1464. Harry's representation is captured in 'Spectre Of The Bonny Prince', where he embodies Charles Edward Stuart, also referred to as the Young Pretender and Bonnie Prince Charlie, reports the Mirror .
Llywelyn Hall commented: "In Harry's case, I have entered the story before he met Meghan the young party-goer with his future very much in the balance, a bit like the Bonnie Prince I have likened him to. I thought putting Meghan in the role of the White Queen, who was a Queen Consort and possibly the most influential 'outsider' in Royal history, might have a fine irony to it and not necessarily beyond the realms of reality."
