Michael Hepburn, a music teacher and director of Paisley Diocesan Choir, wed Jill Kelly in an emotional ceremony at St Francis of Assisi Church. Beautiful bride Jill was fashionably late, and had the groom in tears, as she walked down the aisle. Michael, 26, who teaches at a high school in Clydebank, said: "We both had a fantastic day, from start to finish.
I was a bit emotional when I saw Jill. "The mix of the music and then seeing her was just amazing, I was in floods of tears." The couple, former St Stephen's High School pupils, celebrated their special day with hundreds of guests, several choirs - and a papal blessing into the bargain.
Around 200 people flocked to the church to see Jill and Michael exchange their vows. Jill, 27, a physiotherapist at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, said: "It was the most amazing day and on the day everything worked out as we'd planned it." Parish priest Matthew Carlin was joined by Father Eoin Patten at the wedding.
Father Patten quipped: "It's an intimate affair with a few hundred people and four choirs." He added: "This day was always going to come, they came from the same town, went to the same school, it was in God's plan that these two people would be together." As well as choirs they had acclaimed musical director John Pitcathley on the organ and a two-man brass section.
