Thousands are expected to descend into Swanage for an eight-day extravaganza of and entertainment. This year, the theme of the carnival is ‘Jurassic Rocks’ to highlight the beauty of the Dorset coast and what it is best known for. A spokesperson for the carnival said: “This year’s theme is sure to get the crowds roaring with a special appearance from ‘Rexy’ the Dinosaur from the film ‘Night at the Museum 2’ Swanage Carnival is run solely by volunteers, who dedicate their time and efforts to putting on the South Coast's Premier Carnival, not only providing 8 days of fun-filled entertainment for all to enjoy but raising money throughout the week to donate to the chosen charities and local good causes within the community.
