Plowshares in Ukiah is preparing for its Third Annual BBQ-On-Wheels dinner, a drive-through fundraiser supporting the Senior Meals-On-Wheels Program. This event is next Saturday, June 29, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
at 1346 S. State St., catered by Big Earl’s BBQ and The Ukiah Redwood Empire Lions Club.

m. to 3:30 p.m.
A $80-$100 Family BBQ Dinner ticket includes: Tri-Tip or Chicken, Potato Salad, Green Salad, Bread, and Dessert. Or get “The Works” Family BBQ Dinner ticket. This $125 ticket gets you a family BBQ Dinner with both Tri-Tip and Chicken.
There is also an optional $25 add-on for a Family Size Mac & Cheese. Vegetarian dinner will also be available. The event supports the community’s Senior Meals-On-Wheels program.
This program delivers free, nutritious, freshly prepared meals to the homes of over 200 disabled, home-bound seniors. Plowshares provides meals to these seniors seven days a week, for a total of more than 67,000 meals a year. Michelle Shaw, Executive Director of Plowshares, says, “Our meals consist of proteins, carbohydrates, and vegetables.
We also provide fruits, fresh green salads, bread, treats, and a weekly quart of milk with those meals. And, we will soon be expanding MOW to Hopland.” “The value of our Senior Meals-On-Wheels program goes far beyond the nutr.
