Culture | Gaming Sony has announced the games coming to the PlayStation Plus catalogue this month, and they include a Final Fantasy game you may have missed. Thirteen games will be added to the PlayStation Plus service this month. PlayStation Plus Premium members get to play all 13, while Extra members can play nine.

Unfortunately, those signed up to the Essential tier cannot access any of them. All will be available from July 16. Here’s the list: The newest high-profile title among these games is Remnant II .

It’s a third-person action game with procedurally generated campaigns so you can replay without too much déjà vu. Remnant II has been compared to the Dark Souls games, for its challenging combat and boss fights – but you use a gun rather than hand-to-hand weapons. It has an 80 per cent rating on Metacritic , but is only available to PlayStation 5 players as it’s a recent, demanding title.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII: Reunion is another interesting addition. It joins Final Fantasy VII Remake and Remake Intergrade on the service. It’s a prequel game to the beloved Final Fantasy VII , and was originally only available on the PSP until it was remade for modern consoles (and PC).

This remake came out in December 2022, and achieved a commendable 78 per cent on Metacritic . It’s basically a must-play for big Final Fantasy VII fans. The best-reviewed game of the bunch (discounting the oldies), though, is Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous , with an 83 per cen.
