There likely will be skyrockets, a common firework mushrooming into flowery shapes, aerial bombs that explode with a thunderclap, and others that burn with colored flames or sparkles in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and silver, drifting downward. They’ll be in the night sky Thursday, when the City of Vacaville Parks and Recreation Department stages its annual Fourth of July celebration with a concert and fireworks display. As usual, the free event will be held at the CreekWalk Plaza in Andrews Park.
Music starts at 6:30 p.m. Join neighbors and friends to celebrate America with live entertainment, vendors, plentiful food, and, of course, the pyrotechnics.
Download the smartphone Japa app to locate available parking in downtown. Can’t make it? No problem, city officials said in a press statement. Watch the livestream on Comcast 26, AT&T 99 and via the City’s Facebook page.
Kicking off the night will be music from Groove Ride followed by fireworks. Note: No outside alcohol or glass containers will be allowed. No smoking, no weapons, no tents, no early drop-off of chairs and blankets, and no pets (service animals are permitted).
Lawn chairs, blankets, and water in small coolers no larger than four gallons will be permitted. Keep in mind that in the city of Vacaville, all fireworks, including safe and sane, are illegal. Trained pyrotechnics and fire personnel will be on hand to ensure a safe fireworks experience for all, city officials said in the prepared stateme.
