Fans came out in their thousands to watch England take on Switzerland in the quarter final of the European Championships at venues across the city. A tense few moments before Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the final penalty (Image: Andrew Gardner / The Argus) Hundreds descended on the Brighton fan zone in Valley Gardens to watch the game on the big screen. Spirits were high within the event's fortified boundaries as Southgate's 11 put up a fight for the place in the semi final - which they secured after battling it out in a penalty shootout.
