People simply do not work harder from home (Image: Getty) It's not long ago anyone who suggested that Working From Home was a skiver’s dream was slated as regressive and old fashioned. “Why should we trek into an office when we can be more productive and creative from home,” screamed the skivers from their comfy sofas. It was an argument that was bandied about by workers who, thanks to Covid , had had a taste of WFH and were determined not to give it up.
“We work even harder at home than we do at the office,” they whined while plodding into their respective kitchens in their pyjamas to make yet another cup of tea. Well, a new survey claims that’s all tosh and that people actually don’t work harder from home. In fact the average hybrid worker spends up to TWO hours AND 52 minutes every day glued to the telly – which is 22 minutes more than the national average and more than a third of the working day.
