It could soon be ‘Sir David Beckham ’ after the football ace was spotted charming King Charles after being named an ambassador for the King’s Foundation. The England football legend, 49, attended a meeting with the monarch at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire to discuss the work of the charity. The unlikely duo were pictured laughing together outside the grand building, with Beckham announcing to his Instagram followers he had been made an ambassador for the foundation.

He said he was ‘honoured’ to take on the position, and shared what he and the King had talked about during their meeting – including their shared passion for beekeeping . Posting a picture of them mid-laughter , Beckham wrote: ‘I’m honoured to become an Ambassador for The King’s Foundation. ‘It was inspiring to hear from His Majesty about the Foundation’s projects and ambitions during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens.

.. As someone who grew up in London but has developed a love of the countryside, I’m looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and efforts to ensure young people have a greater understanding of nature ❤️ and we shared beekeeping tips! 🐝😂 @kingsfdn @highgrovegarden.

’ Fans flocked to the comments asking the King to ‘make Sir David happen’ and give the football star a Knighthood. Many theorised the King will announce that David is receiving the historic title ‘soon’, and were quick to share why they think he deserves it. .
