Pastry fans have shared their excitement as Lidl is bringing back one of its most popular treats. Shoppers begged the supermarket to bring back their "buttery and flaky" cheese twits, served in the Lidl bakery, since it disappeared. Fans even setting up an official Lidl Cheese Twist Appreciation Society.
Costing 99p the popular snack hooked fans so much that they said they "couldn't go another month" without them, and insisted that bringing back the pastries would "fix the country". After fans persistence, supermarket bosses decided to bring the cheese twists back - and will be available in stores from Thursday, May 30. Lidl describes the pastry as an "impossibly light and airy savoury delight, with layer upon layer of buttery and flaky pastry intertwined with rich, flavourful British mature cheddar, cooked to perfection".
