At least 44 areas in the country will be having a heat index falling under the danger level on Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said. In its 5 p.m.
heat index forecast on Tuesday, PAGASA said the following areas will experience heat index ranging from 42°C to 46°C: 46°C 45°C 44°C 43°C 42°C The lowest heat index prediction of 26°C was recorded at Baguio City, Benguet. According to PAGASA, areas with heat index ranging from 42°C to 51°C are categorized under the danger level. Individuals in said areas are at a risk of heat exhaustion and heat cramps.
Heat stroke is also possible with continued exposure. PAGASA advises the public to limit outdoor activity, remain hydrated, and wear light-colored clothes to avoid heat-related illnesses. Heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels, which is different from the actual air temperature.
