Restaurants, bakeries and takeaways all received the 'very good' maximum five score in recent weeks after inspections by Environmental Health officers. Three of South Oxfordshire’s restaurants, cafes or canteens received good news, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows. Pub-restaurant The Golden Ball at Lower Assendon, Henley, was rated five on May 30.
Sandwiches and salads takeaway Subway at 154 Broadway, , achieved top marks on May 29. And Sandford Talking Shop at Sandford Village Hall in Henley Road was rated five on May 21. The volunteer-run community shop, which opened in 2010 has since expanded to include both a café and a weekly market on Saturdays.
It means that of South Oxfordshire's 282 similar establishments with ratings, 150 (53 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating. Meanwhile in of White Horse, award-winning bakery Blake's Clanfield, at Unit 2, The Old Carpenters Yard, Coleshill, was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 23. And Clean Slate Catering, at Unit 5 To 6, Butchers Yard, Ardington, near , was also given a score of five on May 14.
