Outer Range: Josh Brolin stars in Prime Video trailer Outer Range fans have been left fuming following the news that Amazon Prime Video has decided to cancel the show - despite the gigantic mystery which remains unsolved. Viewers took to social media to complain about the decision, pointing out that the continued axing of mystery series makes them not want to invest in these types of shows in the future. The popular show’s sudden cancellation has left fans with a lot of unanswered questions following the season two finale, which aired back in May.

The science-fiction Western hybrid, which stars Dune and Avengers actor Josh Brolin, follows a rancher who discovers a dark void at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness. However, fans will never know what that mystery is all about - and they are now calling out the “ridiculous” decision to end the show before it is resolved. Outer Range, which also starred Lili Taylor and Imogen Poots, isn’t the only huge streaming show to get the boot from Prime Video.

A promising sci-fi series from the creators of Westword, The Peripheral, also got cut last year. Outer Range’s cancellation proves particularly shocking, given that it once reached number three on the Nielsen Streaming Originals, which suggests it achieved some high viewing figures. Viewers are now holding out hope that show creator Charles Murray will attempt to sell the series to a rival streaming platform.
