I was thinking recently about a dear friend I used to meet up with at Fremont Pizzeria for lunch. We always had a good time and good food, and we would talk for hours — and the staff was fine with just letting us be. Atmosphere: 13/20 Menu: 17/20 Food: 14/20 Service: 18/20 Value: 14/20 Total: 76/100 It was that memory that spurred me to suggest to Dad that we check the place out, since I hadn’t been there in several years.
Dad noted that it had a number of positive reviews online, so he agreed. Fremont Pizzeria has been open since the mid-1980s and is the only restaurant in the town of about 5,000 people. When you’re the only restaurant in town, it makes sense that you’d have a large and diverse menu.
And that they do, with pizza, calzones, sandwiches, burgers, seafood and pasta heading up the menu. Italian ingredients and dishes are also highlighted. The takeout counter is right in front of you when you walk in, and from what I saw during dinner, they do a lot of takeout business.
Take a right and you are in the open dining area. There are additional tables toward the front of the building in what can be described as an airy sunroom space that you step down into, with rounded bays and tall windows. I’ve never been in a pizza restaurant that has as many architectural details.
It’s hard to miss the high ceilings, which make it feel roomy. If you want even more room, and fresh air, there’s an outdoor patio. We had already decided ahead of our visit to pass on appe.
