File POSTMEDIA / FILE PHOTO Article content A 61-year-old Ottawa-area man has been charged with several offences after a driver allegedly failed to remain at a collision on July 21. Provincial police said in a release Wednesday they were called at about 6 p.m.
to a two- vehicle collision on Highway 417 in Ottawa’s east end. One of the individuals involved allegedly became angry and struck the other driver’s vehicle with a large object, breaking the taillight. That individual then fled the scene.
OPP members later located the vehicle and driver. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief under $5,000 and dangerous operation of a vehicle He is set to appear in provincial court Aug. 30.
