A confused traveller snapped a picture of the mind-bending carpet choice and posted it to Reddit with a single question: "Why would you choose this carpet for your hotel?" At first glance, it appears the floor is bumpy and unsteady – but it's just a trick of the design. The designer of this carpet created depth and perspective and a false ripple effect, which to some can cause feelings of dizziness. And it seems this particular choice might be a hazard to guests who have been enjoying a tipple or two.
"Imagine walking out to this with a massive hangover," one person joked. "This made me nauseous, and I'm completely sober in my bed," another said. One commenter also suggested the floor was designed this way to "prevent people from running" down the hallway.
