m., the Ontario Provincial Police said in a post on X. Both vehicles caught on fire, with one person pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Others were taken to hospital with varying degrees of injuries, with at least one person transported to an Ottawa trauma centre. Police said County Road 17 was closed in both directions between County Road 34 and Golf Club Road, and would remain closed for several hours during an investigation. No other details were immediately available.
