ROCHESTER — A national health care think tank recently ranked Olmsted Medical Center Hospital the most socially responsible hospital in Minnesota. In the 2024 "America's Most Socially Responsible Hospitals" report from the Lown Institute, OMC Hospital is listed as No. 29 among the nation's acute care hospitals for social responsibility, which is based on factors such as pay equity, inclusivity, clinical outcomes and cost efficiency.

"Socially responsible hospitals are trusted to provide high-quality care to all, and their success directly improves the health and economic stability of their communities.

For avoiding overuse — one of the factors in the "value" grade — the Lown report ranks OMC Hospital sixth in the nation for avoiding inappropriate tests and procedures.
