Linda Aceto PORTLAND – Linda Jean (Webb) Aceto Tyree, 73, passed away on May 1, 2024. Linda was born in Alexandria, Va. to the late Charles Edward and Helen Jean (Millpaugh) Webb.

She graduated from Fort Hunt High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from George Washington University, followed by a MAIS in Interdisciplinary Studies from George Mason University. Linda had a passion for learning and was an accomplished artist and published author. She worked at the Fairfax Park Authority in Virginia and as a swim aerobics instructor in Maine.

Linda met and married Christopher Aceto, and they relocated to Maine after Christopher’s retirement. An avid gardener, Linda always maintained a beautiful yard and offered great gardening advice. After the loss of her husband, Chris, she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Michael Tyree, and the two married in December 2023.

Linda enjoyed peanut toast and tea or coffee in the morning, and loved listening to country and western music. She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Webb; her former husband, Christopher Aceto; a cousin, Becky Grush; and many beloved pets, including Annie. Linda is survived by her husband, Michael Tyree of Portland; stepson, Matthew Tyree of Maryland; cousins Deborah Krainski of Massachusetts, Cindy Wood of Ohio, Pam Carither of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Duffy.
