Nordia Mothersille has been officially recognised as Grammy Award-winning songwriter. The Recording Academy last week awarded the Jamaican with a certificate, acknowledging her pivotal role as co-writer on the song, ' Robbed' , which was part of the Grammy Award-winning album, ' Colors Of Royal' . Robbed was produced by Notnice Records.
Colors Of Royal , the work of Julian Marley and Alexx Antaeus, won Best Reggae Album category at the 66th Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles earlier this year. Mothersille shared her achievement on Instagram, posting an image of her Grammy certificate with the simple, heartfelt caption, "Grateful.
" This accolade marks a significant milestone in her burgeoning career, highlighting her remarkable talent and dedication to her craft. Mothersille is currently promoting her latest single, Walk Away . She is also aiming to drop her debut EP, Broken Child , later this year.
Born in Islington, St Mary, Mothersille's musical journey began at the age of 10, deeply influenced by the soulful sounds of Tracy Chapman, Luther Ingram, and Etta James. Her early passion for songwriting was nurtured through performances at Marymount High School and regular church singing, laying a strong foundation for her future in music. Mothersille recorded her first single, Ice Cream and Chocolate Bars , in 2017 with Reef Records.
Her career took a significant leap forward in 2019 when she caught the attention of renowned producer Ainsley 'Notnice' Mor.
