Nicki Minaj’s Co-op Live Arena show in Manchester has been postponed following her shock arrest in Amsterdam. The 41-year-old was arrested at an airport in the Netherlands hours before she was due to perform in front of thousands of fans at Co-op Live in Manchester. According to recent reports, Nicki was detained at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on suspicion of possession of soft drugs.
The star was later released from custody just before 9pm. However Dutch police told Sky News she will have to pay an undisclosed fine for "illegally exporting soft drugs from the Netherlands to another country." Taking to social media during her ordeal, Nicki shared a series of posts on X and Instagram.
The rapper earlier claimed police said they found drugs in her luggage after items were checked by customs. She wrote on X: "They said they found weed". She also claimed: "They took my luggage without consent" and "they're trying to keep me from MANCHESTER".
She also wrote: "This is Amsterdam btw, where weed is legal." She added: "It's a 45 minute to an hour flight. So they're probably trying to stall for about 4 hours.
" Nicki then told fans that she will have to make a statement. She wrot: "Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct." She has not posted on social media platform X since.
