Taylor, aged 31, died in the hospital on May 10, 2019, following an interaction with officers from the Ontario Provincial Police on May 2, 2019, in Hawkesbury, Ontario. As required by the Coroners Act, an inquest into his death is mandatory. The purpose of the inquest is to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr.

Taylor’s death. The jury will have the opportunity to hear the details of the case and may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. This process is essential for ensuring accountability and improving public safety measures.
