AN NHS centre was closed after two snakes were found in the waiting room. One was believed to be a pregnant grass snake and the other a venomous adder. After the serpent squatters were spotted, officials shut the vaccination centre in Cwm-Cou, West Wales , and called experts to remove them — only after naming them Cwm and Cou.
A Hywel Dda health board spokesman said: “We’ve had two extra visitors call in to our vaccination centre.” They later added: “Cou made a break for it and is no longer in the building. Cwm is still at large.
“We hope to reopen as soon as possible.” The snakes caused a stir online with one user posting: “My worst nightmare.” Another said: “This is hisssterical.
” Snake enthusiast Geraint Hopkins, of Llanelli, added: “Beautiful grass snake. "Probably a gravid female. Unlikely to bite, but can spray a strong musk.
If there’s one, there’s usually more.”.
