Former Grimsby Town player and Mariners legend John McDermott has become one of four new directors at the helm of Immingham Town FC. The club, known affectionately as The Pilgrims, has announced the appointment of four new directors to drive forward the club’s ambitious plans for the redevelopment of the Woodlands Stadium. John McDermott spent all his playing career, all 20 years, at Grimsby Town FC.

He holds the club record for the number of appearances for the Mariners with 647 league games and 754, overall. Now he is teaming up with Lee Mullen, Ben Robinson and Rob Mortimore, who join the Pilgrims with a wealth of experience and will play a major part in delivering a community facility for Immingham and the surrounding areas at Woodlands.

Lee has vast experience in the Football League as Director of Grimsby Town, as well as a stint as Director at Alfreton Town. Speaking to Grimsby Live, Mullen said: "I am delighted to be invited to be involved in this exciting opportunity to bring Immingham Town FC back from the brink of being no more. This is a great opportunity, with a blank canvas, to bring the community together by building a community facility for the people of Immingham.
