Phil Foden couldn't hide his delight after new footage showed him celebrating Jude Bellingham's last-gasp equaliser. The Manchester City star had been sacrificed in the fourth minute of injury time with England trailing 1-0 to Slovakia in the Euro 2024 last-16 clash. Replaced by Ivan Toney, the hope was that the alteration could inspire a late, late comeback - something that the Three Lions managed in dramatic fashion.
Making a swift exit off the pitch, footage shared by ITV showed Foden making his way back to the England bench as he walked behind the goal and around the perimeter of the pitch in Gelsenkirchen. It was then that Bellingham popped up with his spectacular overhead kick that reignited England's hopes of progressing into the quarter final. As fans celebrated wildly, Bellingham wheeled away before appearing to shout 'who else?' towards the supporters.
He was then swarmed by his England teammates - both on the pitch and on the bench - with Foden among those joining in. Making his way from behind the goal, the Man City star could be seen running and jumping on the shoulders of Harry Kane, who was embracing Bellingham. Bellingham's strike was just what the doctor ordered as the clash went into extra-time, with Kane promptly popping up with a header to put England 2-1 ahead over Slovakia.
Gareth Southgate's side, while disappointing on the whole, did manage to see out the game and secure their spot in the quarter-finals. 🔊 SOUND ON 🔊 The noise when the ball hit t.
