Another life-saving bleed kit has been installed in central Bristol. The box is located outside BOSH, Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless, at 64 Bond Street next door to McDonald's. The area has seen a significant increase in knife crime in recent months.

Last month, a teenager was attacked at the entrance to Cabot Circus. BOSH had a bleed kit inside their premises but the installation has made the emergency supplies accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed kit is designed to control a catastrophic bleed, which can also be caused by car accidents or work-related injuries.

BOSH staff have had training on how to use the bleed kits but CIO Julie Dempster feels "reassured" that a kit is now accessible out-of-hours. "Because of Leanne's campaigning I wanted to do the training and it was important that my team had the training and that we had a kit on site.

This kit is reassuring for me because of the difference it makes to someone's life," said Julie. "I would beg anyone to take the time to do the training. I have done first aid but knowing how to deal with a catastrophic bleed is very different.
