IMPERIAL – After months of training, testing, credential obtaining, and license issuance, Mexicali native Yusuri Osuna was finally able to see her dream come true on Wednesday evening. Osuna, who spent two decades in Mexicali with her beauty business, said after four months to get licenses, insurance and other paperwork her small business was finally able to open. “The day finally came,” Osuna said in Spanish.
“Today we are open for our community.” Osuna said the road to Wednesday evening was not an easy one, facing many challenges that at times had the stylist close to giving up. However, her husband, two daughters and family members always pushed Osuna to continue forward.
Back in 2002, the entrepreneur decided to move to the Imperial Valley and after two years of waiting, Osuna became a permanent resident and a year later she naturalized as an American citizen. The interviewee admitted that the process to become a haircut specialist took her about two years and several thousand dollars, as well as some difficulties. “I never gave up,” Osuna said.
“My family was always there.” “The entrepreneurship is alive and well in the City of Imperial,” Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce Sher Cowie said during the grand opening. The hair and barbershop business is located inside the 413 Fitness Center by La Brucherie Road in Imperial.
Next to where the new business is located is a company of supplements and another providing facial and waxing services. .
