has picked up U.S. and streaming rights to the much anticipated Chinese fantasy suspense series .
Currently in postproduction, the show is expected to drop later this year simultaneously on and — making for a rare day-and-date worldwide release at a time when China’s online video landscape is typically walled off from the major U.S. platforms and their global reach.
The deal was unveiled this week at the ongoing 29th Shanghai TV Festival. is produced by Tencent Video and Hong Kong production banner Drama Apple. The 18-episode series was the only Asian show selected to compete for the Coup de Coeur Award at MIPTV’s MIPDrama Screenings in April.
Initially set in the 1990s, the series follows a Hong Kong police detective (played by Hong Kong heartthrob William Chan) who unexpectedly travels to the year 2018 and partners with a female detective (popular mainland Chinese ) to uncover a series of mysterious murder cases stretching across the past. The ensemble cast includes Tse Kwan Ho ( ), Niki Chow ( ), Ling Man Lung ( ), Ben Yuen Fu Wah ( ) and Cheung Man Kit ( ), along with a special appearance from Stephen Fung ( ). is directed by Hong Kong filmmaker KK Wong ( ) and scripted by veteran screenwriter Tong Yiu-leung ( ), along with Chu Kang Ki and Lau Siu Kwan ( ) as script consultants.
Other prominent Hong Kong industry creatives involved in the show include director of photography Ng Man Ching ( ), costume designers Ollie Leung ( ) and Johnny Tang Shui-Wa ( ). The 2024 Sh.
