Natasha Hamilton has launched her first solo single after admitting she'd been left "traumatised" after Atomic Kitten. The Scouse star, 41, joined the girl group with Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon in 1999 before the band split in 2003 following three No 1 singles. Appearing on This Morning today to promote her new track Edge of Us, Natasha said she was excited to finally be going solo after "falling out of love" with the music industry.
Speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, she announced: "Edge of Us is out today. I've never been solo. Life takes over, I've had five kids and I fell out of love with music, but I found my way back.
It would have been a big regret if I hadn't returned to music, it was an itch that needed itching." I'd had five intense years with Atomic Kitten and when that came to an end, it was really abrupt.
I wasn't too wasn't too well at the time." After the band broke up, she revealed: "Everyone disappeared. Friends were leaving.
I realised who my friends were, people came and went." With their smash-hit tracks, Whole Again and Eternal Flame, Atomic Kitten were one of the most popular girls bands of the noughties. The group's debut album Right Now was released in October 2000 and charted at number 39 in the United Kingdom .
