From the middle of 2023, there was huge buzz around the casting for new season of Naagin. Ankita Lokhande, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Riddhima Pandit, Ankit Gupta were some of the names that did the rounds for the supernatural show. But Ekta Kapoor has given Naagin a break from the TV screens.
But fans of the snake maiden vengeance franchise have something in store. It is just that the new version of Naagin might not be appointment viewing with family. The producer has come up with Naag Vadhu on ALTT.
The show is about a village that has a Naag Mahal. On the Amavasya (New Moon) night, a maiden is selected to be the wife of the snake king of the palace. When a guy from outside the village falls for a girl, he wants to unravel the mysteries of the place.
The show has the titillation most ALTT shows are known for. The show stars Simran Khan, Poulomi Das, Zuber Khan, Tanya Desai and Subuhi Joshi. Fans said the palette of the show was similar to that of Gandii Baat in terms of the setting and locations.
We can see that Ekta Kapoor is not done with her spins on Naags and Naagins. The tale seems to be set in Rajasthan. The Naagin series made a star out of Mouni Roy.
After her, Surbhi Jyoti and Tejasswi Prakash rocked as Naagins on screen. We have to see how this new show is lapped up by fans of OTT content. Zuber Khan was a part of many Ekta Kapoor shows on TV including the superhit Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.
