A LANDSCAPING fan has shared their DIY yard transformation. A wall system and some new plants gave the gardener's front porch new life. Redditor Reubencuban shared the home transformation in a viral post.

"Finished up my first landscaping project of the year. I'm pleased with the result and hopeful I can keep the plants alive and thriving," they said. They explained that a large flowering plant, though attractive, caused problems that affected the rest of their garden.

"Before: A 25-foot holly was cleared because it was helping water run onto the window ledge and led to some rot," they said. "Roses were dying." After clearing out the plants, they laid down a fabric tarp to plan their next steps.

After giving their house a fresh coat of blue paint, they settled on retaining their garden bed by building a wall using Techo-Bloc's Prescott Wall System . The Redditor explained that they ended up going with a design that was as aesthetically pleasing as possible. "I've never purchased blocks from Lowe's or Home Depot, so I'm not versed in their details," they said.

"I primarily [chose] Techo-Bloc for the look. The other reason is I could order it from a landscape supply company by the pallet and have it delivered to my house with the rest of the materials (aggregate, sand, topsoil). "It likely depends on the size of the garden walls you need.

"The wall system itself is nice because it uses HDPE pins to help with alignment to create an offset, so the wall isn't perfectly vertical." .
