No one wants their kids to have body hang-ups. But when they put on so much weight that it becomes unhealthy, it can be a real concern. Sadly, a mum knows this problem all too well.
One of her teenage twins is battling obesity, which has stressed her out so much she put the whole family on a diet. This didn't go down well with her other child, who is a healthy weight. So wondering if she was in the wrong for trying to make everyone change their eating habits, she shared the predicament online.
She wrote: “I have two children, 14-year-old identical twins Megan* and Alana*. Both are 5’0”. Megan weighs over 150 pounds while Alana weighs around 95.
They used to be the same weight until they were around 7, when Megan started getting chubby, but still healthy weight. “When she was 11, Megan was considered medically overweight. I went to a doctor for advice, and he said that I shouldn’t worry too much since a lot of kids gain weight right before puberty, and then ‘balance out’ after their growth spurt.
” The mum asked doctors for advice – but was told neither of the kids had medica.
