GRAND FORKS – Grand Forks residents came out this weekend to admire vehicles from classic muscle cars to garbage trucks during the inaugural Smoke N’ Shine Show. The community event was touted as a modern take on a car show and members of the public could view and see cars ranging from pickup trucks from the 1930s to modern sports cars. The event was sponsored by Bifrost Manufacturing — a Grand Forks business that specializes in 3D printed parts — and Triix Customs — a car accessories store — and Visit Greater Grand Forks.

People walked around in the beautiful late June weather in the Alerus Center parking lot. Vehicles came not only from Grand Forks, but from across the state and Canada, to show. In addition to the car show, there was a bicycle show for kids to show off their bicycles and an obstacle course contest, food trucks and various vendors showing their wares.

“(We just wanted) to have a great time with fellow gearheads and bring something fun and interesting to our community,” Jonathan Puhl, one of the event’s founders, told the Herald. ADVERTISEMENT.
