PMMA is not approved by the FDA in the US as it's deemed unsafe, and BBL procedures already carry high risk when performed safely. She fell ill the next day and was taken to hospital by her husband. Aline had a high fever but told by medical staff the threshold was "normal" and was prescribed an antipyretic to combat it.

However, the 33-year-old model’s condition continued to worsen after the procedure in Goiânia, south west of the capital, at her usual, trusted clinic. She was hospitalised in a serious condition in Brasília on June 29 after experiencing severe abdominal pain and dizzy spells. Aline eventually suffered a heart attack and passed away on Tuesday July, 10 days after the PMMA procedure.

She will be buried at the Campo da Esperança cemetery in Brasília on July 4. Most read in Health FLARE UP SPFL club's friendly ABANDO.
