Mihir Shah, who absconded after running over a woman with his BMW car in Mumbai's Worli, has been arrested on Tuesday. The accident happened on July 7 when Pradeep Nakhwa and his wife Kaveri Nakhwa were reportedly hit from behind at around 5:30 in the morning. The woman is said to have been dragged for over one kilometre and was declared brought dead when rushed to the hospital.
Shah, on the other hand, fled the scene and abandoned the car after crossing the Bandra-Worli sea link. Multiple reports say the accused partied with his friends at a bar in Juhu and spent over Rs 18,000. A CCTV footage of the accused leaving the bar with his friends is also circulating online.

His mother and two sisters have also been taken into custody for allegedly helping him evade arrest. The police formed 14 teams to nab him. His father Rajesh Shah - part of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena - was also arrested and later released on bail.
