Kate Rackham, affectionately known by her followers as the Teacher With Cancer , had been open about her struggles after being diagnosed with incurable estrogen-receptive breast cancer. Today, she made her last update.
Her final words were: "If you're reading this, it means I have died. But do not cry for me. I have lived my life on my own terms, the way I have wanted to.
I joined X because I needed an outlet, what I got was so much more. You made me feel validated in my feelings and much less alone. Thank you.
" Diagnosed at just 39 years old without any known risk factors, Kate, from Morecambe, Lancashire, dedicated herself to raising awareness through her Fighting to be Heard Foundation at the age of 45. In her recent communication with her followers, dated June 7, Kate apologised for not being in touch due to "hospital stays, procedures and uncertainty" and shared the harrowing news that doctors could do no more. She expressed her need for time to process this, reports the Mirror .
